Ulsan's most accessible beach sits on the east side of the city, a short taxi ride from anywhere in town. The sandy stretch is backed by a seafront promenade lined with seafood restaurants, coffee shops and convenience stores. A glass-floored restaurant on the second floor of the last building on the left (above a January's Coffee) serves fresh fish dishes with views straight over the water — a fine spot to catch the sunset.
South of the beach, steps lead up to Ulgi Park for a clifftop walk. The beachfront coffee places near the park entrance have swinging benches and outdoor terraces.
The beach gets busy on summer weekends and the sand can accumulate litter, so weekday mornings are the best time for a quiet visit.

Ilsan Beach is an easy taxi ride from anywhere in Ulsan. From Ulsan Airport, take bus 112 or the faster 102. From Ulsan Station or the Intercity Bus Terminal, take bus 1114, 1401 or 401.
