The Elephant and Castle sits in Bangeojin, close to the Hyundai Heavy Industries complex, and caters primarily to the British and European engineers who work at the shipyards. The pub formula is recognisable: draught beer, a dartboard, football on the screens, and a menu that attempts to cover the bases of British pub food with varying degrees of success.
It is a long way from the centre of Ulsan, so unless you are staying in Bangeojin or visiting the coastal area, you probably won't stumble across it. But if you do find yourself on the east side of the city looking for a familiar pint, it is exactly what it appears to be. The crowd on weekday evenings is almost entirely expat workers; at weekends it gets more mixed.
