A short walk from Ilsan Beach, Ulgi and Daewangam Park cluster together along the coast and are among Ulsan's most visited sights. Cherry trees line the paths -- visit in spring for the blossoms -- and the pine forest contains trees over a hundred years old.
The real draw is Daewangam Rock at the end of the trail, reached by crossing a blue and yellow bridge to a windswept outcrop overlooking the East Sea. Legend has it that Queen Mummu of the Silla dynasty became a guardian dragon here upon her death. The Hyundai crane spoils the distant view somewhat, but the walk and the coastline are worth it regardless.
From Ulsan Airport, take bus 102 or 112 to Ulgi Park. From Ulsan Station or Intercity Bus Terminal, take bus 1114, 1401, 117, or 401.
