The Taipei Astronomical Museum is a big, family-friendly science museum in Shilin, easily spotted by its copper-domed planetarium. Four floors of interactive galleries cover the solar system, stars, the history of astronomy and space exploration, with plenty of hands-on exhibits aimed at children, plus an IMAX-style cosmic theatre and a 3D ride.
It sits next to the Taipei Children's Amusement Park and the Science Education Center, a cluster that makes for an easy family day a short walk from Shilin metro station. Closed Mondays.
