The National Museum of Tajikistan is Dushanbe's main museum, with four floors covering geology, archaeology, history, and art. The highlight is the large reclining Buddha from Ajina-tepe, but the museum is also useful for putting Tajikistan's Persian, Islamic, Russian, and Soviet layers in order.
