Victory Park (Boghi Galaba) sits on a hillside in the eastern part of the city, a Soviet-era memorial park dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. The views from the hilltop are the best in Dushanbe — a panorama over the city to the plains beyond, with the mountains of the Hissar Range rising sharply to the north and west.
The park has a memorial flame, a Soviet-style monument, and several cannons and military vehicles on display. It's less formally tended than in Soviet times but still visited by families on weekends and holidays. The walk up through the trees is pleasant. Come in the late afternoon for the best light and temperature.
