Wat Traphang Thong is an active temple on a small island just east of Sukhothai Historical Park's main gate. Its oldest feature is a bell-shaped chedi, while a newer mondop protects a stone Buddha footprint said to date from the 14th century.
The temple is easy to visit before or after the Ramkhamhaeng National Museum, and its lake setting gives it a quieter feel than the larger ruins inside the park.
