Dicle Bridge

Ten-arch medieval bridge over the Tigris, used for over nine centuries

The Dicle Bridge (also called On Gözlü Köprü — Ten-Arched Bridge) spans the Tigris about 3km south of the old city walls. Built in 1065, it was the main crossing of the upper Tigris for centuries and remains largely intact. Walking across it gives good views both upriver toward the basalt walls and downriver into the valley. The riverside path along the Hevsel Gardens connects the bridge back toward Mardin Kapı; it's a pleasant 45-minute walk along the water. Take a taxi or dolmuş down from the walls and walk back.
