Built by the Genoese in 1348 as the Tower of Christ, this 67-metre stone tower dominates the Beyoğlu skyline. The view from the top — over the Golden Horn, the Bosphorus, and the minarets of the old city — is genuinely one of the finest urban panoramas anywhere. Go at sunset if you can, and pay the admission fee without complaint.
