Chor Minor is one of Bukhara's most photogenic small monuments: a compact gateway-like building with four blue-domed towers, each slightly different in decoration. It sits away from the main ensemble sights, which makes finding it through the lanes part of the pleasure.
The building is small, so do not expect the scale of the Kalyan complex or the Ark. Its value is in its odd proportions, tile details, and neighbourhood setting, a reminder that Bukhara's historic fabric extends well beyond the obvious showpieces.
