My Khe Beach is Da Nang's everyday seafront: a long, pale sweep of sand running down the city's eastern edge, with the Son Tra peninsula to the north and the Marble Mountains far to the south. It is not secluded, and that is part of its character. Locals exercise here at dawn, families swim in the late afternoon, and seafood restaurants light up after dark.
Swimming is usually best in the dry season, when the sea is calmer and lifeguarded sections are clearly marked. The beach is wide enough that it rarely feels crushed, even when the hotel strip is busy. Come early for the best local rhythm, or at sunset when the heat drops and the promenade starts to fill.
