Hastings Street

Hastings Street is Noosa's spine — a single, short, palm-lined street that runs parallel to Main Beach and concentrates almost all of the town's restaurants, fashion boutiques, gelaterias, and high-end accommodation. The buildings are deliberately low (a long-standing local height limit caps anything above three storeys), and the planting on the central median is intentionally tropical.

It is also where Noosa's expensive, slightly self-consciously stylish atmosphere is most concentrated. A morning walk along Hastings to the surf club for breakfast, an afternoon swim, sunset drinks at one of the rooftop bars: that is the basic Noosa Heads choreography, and it works.
