Noosa Main Beach

Noosa Main Beach is one of the very few east coast Australian beaches that faces north, sheltered from the prevailing southerly swell by the headland of the national park. The result is calm, family-friendly water — clear in summer, with a long gentle shore-break that makes it one of the safest swimming beaches in Queensland.

Lifeguards patrol the central section year round. Hastings Street runs immediately behind, which means showers, coffee, and a beer are all about thirty seconds from the sand. The southern end, where the beach meets the rocks at Little Cove, is the quieter, prettier stretch; the northern end gets busy with day-trippers and stand-up paddlers.
