Mystic Hill, just north of town, is one of the most consistently flyable paragliding launch sites in Victoria. The hill faces south-southeast, and the thermal activity in the Ovens Valley makes for long, rewarding flights over the town and surrounding orchards. Experienced paragliders and hang-gliders use the site regularly; tandem flights with qualified pilots are available for beginners.
Bright Aero Club operates tandem flights from Mystic Hill on suitable weather days — call ahead or check conditions online before arriving. A tandem flight lasts around 20–30 minutes and gives a remarkable perspective on the autumn colours and the valley geometry that isn't visible from the ground. The hill itself is accessed via a short walking track from a car park off the Ovens Highway.
