York Motor Museum

One of the finest collections of vintage vehicles in Australia, the York Motor Museum holds over 130 cars spanning more than a century of motoring history. The collection ranges from early brass-era machines and pre-war classics to racing cars and rare Australian-made vehicles, all presented in a well-lit space with proper labelling rather than the dusty clutter that afflicts many provincial car museums.

The emphasis on Australian automotive history gives it a dimension that purely European or American collections lack. Look for the veteran cars from the 1900s, the Depression-era Australians, and the section covering the heyday of Australian motor sport. Allow at least 90 minutes.
