Andon Zako Çajupi Theatre

The city theatre, named for the early 20th-century Albanian poet Andon Zako Çajupi, sits on a small square off the main shopping street. The building is a handsome 1920s neoclassical pile, restored in the 2010s, with a 600-seat hall used for Albanian-language drama and the occasional touring opera or ballet.

Check the box office for the current programme — productions are almost entirely in Albanian, but the building is worth a look from outside even if you don't catch a show.
