Elbasan Han

The Elbasan Han is one of the few surviving Ottoman caravanserais in Albania, built in the 18th century to lodge merchants and their pack animals trading between Korçë and Elbasan. The two-storey stone building wraps a courtyard, with arched ground-floor stables and upper-floor rooms reached by a wooden balcony.

After years of neglect it was restored in the 2010s and now houses a few small businesses and a courtyard cafe. The architecture is the reason to step inside; if you've already been to the bazaar, this completes the picture of pre-modern commercial Korçë.
