Church of Our Lady

The Church of Our Lady stands beside Nieuwpoort's central square. Like much of the town, it was destroyed during the First World War and rebuilt in the 1920s, so its value is tied as much to the town's wartime story as to its architecture.

It is a natural stop with the belfry, grain hall, and nearby war memorials. The church helps explain why Nieuwpoort's historic centre feels old in plan but heavily shaped by twentieth-century reconstruction.
