Staketsel

Long sea pier at Nieuwpoort-Bad, good for harbour views, fishing, and a bracing North Sea walk.

The Staketsel is the long pier guarding the harbour mouth at Nieuwpoort-Bad. It is a simple structure, but a useful one for visitors: walk out over the water and the resort skyline, beach, marina traffic, and open North Sea line up in one sweep.

Come for a short coastal walk rather than a formal monument. Anglers use the end of the pier, families stroll it after the beach, and in windy weather it gives Nieuwpoort a sharper maritime edge than the promenade alone.
