De Barkentijn is a distinctive 1923 corner house near the Nieuwpoort seafront, noted for its Norman-inspired coastal architecture. Look for the stone base, patterned brick and sandstone work, timbered upper level, dormers, and polygonal corner turret.
It is a quick exterior stop, best folded into a walk around Nieuwpoort-Bad and the harbourfront rather than treated as a destination on its own.
