Sarajevo International Airport (SJJ) is 12 kilometres from the city centre and has connections to major European hubs including Vienna, Frankfurt, Istanbul, London, and Zurich. Budget carriers serve the airport seasonally. Buses run from the airport to the city centre, or taxis cost around 20–25 euros. Arrange the taxi price in advance or use a metered cab.
By bus, Sarajevo is connected to most cities in the former Yugoslavia — Belgrade (5–6 hours), Zagreb (6–7 hours), Dubrovnik (3–4 hours), and Split (5 hours) all have multiple daily connections. The bus station is adjacent to the train station south of the city centre.
By train, the most useful connection is to Mostar (2.5 hours on a scenic route through the mountains) and to Zagreb. International rail connections are limited.
