Lalandia is a large Nordic holiday resort built directly alongside Legoland in Billund, opened in 2009. Its main feature is an indoor tropical water park with a consistent 29°C temperature regardless of the weather outside — a significant advantage given Denmark's unpredictable summers and cold winters. The water complex includes slides, a wave pool, a river run, and a dedicated area for small children. Admission is included for guests staying in the resort's holiday apartments and can be purchased separately by day visitors.
Beyond the water park, Lalandia has a bowling alley, ice rink, indoor mini-golf, and climbing area. Its year-round operation makes it the only reason to visit Billund outside the Legoland season. For families combining a Legoland trip with Lalandia, a two or three night stay in one of the resort's Lego-themed apartments makes practical sense: the parks are connected by a short walkway and joint tickets are available.
