The original Legoland park, opened in 1968 in the hometown of the Lego Group. Miniland is the heart of the park — a sprawling scale model of European cities, airports, and landmarks constructed from around 20 million Lego bricks. Beyond Miniland, the park has over 50 rides and attractions across themed areas including Duplo Land (small children), Pirate Land, Knight's Kingdom, and Ninjago World. Average visit time is around six hours. Season runs from late March to late October; pre-booking tickets online is advisable in peak summer.

A story
When Legoland opened on 7 June 1968, the Lego Group had no theme park expertise whatsoever — the park was built by the same family firm that made the bricks. Over a million visitors came in the first year, more than the entire population of Denmark's second city. The Miniland model of Copenhagen city hall, built from 1.5 million bricks, took craftsmen over two years to complete.
