Hovedvagten was built as a guard house in 1744, using bricks from Hammershus while the medieval fortress was being dismantled. It is regarded as the oldest brick house in Ronne and is a small but worthwhile marker of the town's older military history.
See it while walking between the harbour, the old streets, and the Bornholm Museum rather than as a separate outing.
