The Dieselkraftwerk Kunstmuseum turns an old diesel power station into one of Cottbus most interesting cultural spaces. The red-brick industrial shell is half the pleasure, with exhibition rooms that make modern and contemporary art feel rooted in the citys working past.
The collection and temporary shows focus on art from the region as well as broader German currents. It is a good stop if you want Cottbus to be more than a gateway to the Spreewald.
