The municipal museum, housed in the surviving 12th-century cloister of the Andreasstift — itself worth a visit for the Romanesque architecture. Collections cover the Roman settlement of Borbetomagus (bronze military fittings, glass, mosaics), the medieval imperial city, the Reformation, and the long Worms wine trade.
The Roman section is particularly strong: Worms was a significant Rhine garrison and the artefacts on display reflect that. Allow 90 minutes; combine with the adjacent Magnuskirche for a satisfying southern circuit of the old town.
