The Hungarian Ispita is an 18th-century former almshouse in the centre of Győr, now used for the private collection of historian Peter Váczy. The rooms mix Renaissance and Baroque furniture, carpets, sculpture, paintings, archaeological pieces, and small temporary exhibitions.
It is a good stop if you want one more layer of Győr's Baroque old town after the cathedral and main square. The building itself is part of the appeal, with a quiet, lived-in feel that suits the collection.
