Zichy Palace

Zichy Palace (Zichy-kúria) is a Zopf-style 1781 manor house on Jókai utca, built for one of the great Hungarian noble families. The two-storey façade is elegant rather than grand, with shallow pilasters and a low pediment over the central bay, typical of the restrained late-baroque style of the period.

The building now houses a cultural and civic function and isn't reliably open to the public, but the façade is worth a look in passing — a good example of the transitional architecture that fills the centre of Székesfehérvár.
