St George's Church

St George's Church is Douglas's senior Anglican church, begun in 1762 and opened in 1781 after delays caused by the financial troubles of its early backers. Later 19th-century additions gave it much of its present form.

The church is a useful stop for the older side of Douglas, away from the promenade and transport sights. Its graveyard is also part of the story, with burials that reflect a less polished cross-section of the town's past.
