Otranto's historic core is small enough to walk in an afternoon, but the layers of history — Greek, Byzantine, Norman, Aragonese — reward unhurried wandering. The Cathedral's mosaic floor and the chapel of the 800 martyrs are the headline sights; the castle, the harbour, and Capo d'Otranto beyond fill out the day.
