Cala Guitgia is the most accessible beach on Lampedusa, a short walk from the town centre and the one most used by the island's permanent residents. It is a sandy cove — smaller and more sheltered than Rabbit Beach — with calm, clear water and a beach bar that stays open through the summer season. The setting is pleasant without being spectacular, and it is useful for a quick swim when you want to be close to town.
The beach has a mix of sun lounger rental areas and free public sections. The water is shallow and clean, good for children. Early morning and evening are the quieter times; midday in August it fills with Italian families. The proximity to the town makes it easy to combine with a meal in one of the nearby restaurants.
