Cala Pulcino

Remote Lampedusa cove reached by trail or boat, with pale cliffs and clear blue water

Cala Pulcino is one of Lampedusa's more rewarding coves because it asks for a little effort. Reached by trail or by boat, it sits below pale rock and scrub, with the kind of clear water that makes the island's beaches famous.

The walk can be hot and exposed, so go prepared rather than in casual town sandals. Once there, the cove feels more detached than the easier beaches near the road, especially outside peak hours when the boats have not yet filled the water.
