Giardino Ibleo

The Giardino Ibleo is a public garden at the eastern end of Ragusa Ibla, occupying a promontory with views over the Irminio valley. Three small churches line its edges, including the ruined portal of the ex-church of San Giorgio Vecchio, which survived the 1693 earthquake and stands as a fragment of the medieval town that once occupied this site.

The garden is a good place to rest after walking through Ibla. There are stone benches, old trees, and a terrace at the far end where the ground drops away and you get an unobstructed view across the valley to the opposite ridge. Locals use it as an afternoon passeggiata spot; come in the evening when the light is warm and the families are out.
