The Southern Pier is one of the simplest and best walks in Ventspils: a long harbour arm pushing out toward the Baltic, with ships, wind, gulls, and open water on either side. It gives the port city its scale in a way the tidy streets and parks cannot.
Come in clear weather, or in rougher weather if you like the drama of waves and wind. It pairs well with the beach, the Seaside Open-Air Museum, and the promenade areas around the harbour mouth.
