The principal Lutheran church of Ventspils, an austere octagonal building in pale yellow with a green spire, consecrated in 1835 to replace an earlier wooden church on the same site. The interior is plain in the Protestant manner of the Baltic — white walls, dark wooden pews, a single large organ above the western door.
The church marks the religious centre of the small old town and is open to visitors most days; lunchtime organ recitals run in summer.
