The Natural History Museum of Montenegro is a small, affordable museum tucked behind the AS Bakery — an institution in itself — in the city centre. The collection covers Montenegro's remarkable biodiversity: fossils, minerals, and displays on the country's ecosystems, which range from the Adriatic coast to Alpine mountains in under 100km. Admission is 2 EUR (1 EUR for children).
Montenegro is disproportionately rich in endemic species given its small size, and the museum gives some context to the dramatic landscapes of the national parks. It's worth an hour even if natural history isn't your usual interest — and the bakery next door provides before or after.
