The Pythonbrug — designed by West 8, the same firm behind Sporenburg's housing — is a long, red-painted steel footbridge that curves in a double S over the water connecting Sporenburg to Borneo Island. The snaking shape, unusual for a functional footbridge, has made it one of the most photographed structures in the Eastern Docklands.
It's a short detour rather than a destination in itself, but worth crossing on foot as part of a longer walk through Sporenburg and Borneo Island — the curve gives a better vantage over the docklands' water and low-rise housing than walking straight across would.
