Maria van Jessekerk is Delft's main Roman Catholic church, built between 1875 and 1882 in Gothic Revival style. It was designed by Everard Margry, a student of Pierre Cuypers, and keeps much of its original interior.
The church is a national heritage site and makes a good stop if you are looking beyond Delft's two famous medieval churches. Its 19th-century Catholic confidence gives a different note to a city usually framed through Vermeer, canals, and Protestant monuments.
