Middelalderparken preserves the ruins of medieval Oslo beside the modern Bjørvika waterfront. The park includes church ruins and traces of the former royal estate, giving a useful sense of the city before the centre shifted west. It is an easy stop when visiting the Opera House, the Munch Museum, or the waterfront.
