Złotoria Castle Ruins stand east of Toruń near the meeting of the Vistula and Drwęca rivers. The remains are fragmentary, but the position explains the point: this was a strategic river site in the contested medieval borderlands around the Teutonic state and the Polish crown.
It is best for travellers who enjoy ruins with landscape attached. Toruń's old town gives you the polished brick-Gothic masterpiece; Złotoria gives you a rougher military edge and a reason to look beyond the city walls.
