Piran Coastal Galleries

The Coastal Galleries are a network of six exhibition spaces in and around Piran, run as a single public institution and devoted to contemporary art. The main hall on Tartini Square stages the changing programme — international shows alongside work by Slovenian and Italian artists from the region — while the smaller spaces in the surrounding alleys host more experimental projects.

The galleries also organise the long-running Mediterranean Sculptors' Symposium each summer in the Forma Viva sculpture park, in nearby Portoroz, which has produced one of the largest open-air collections of contemporary stone sculpture in Europe. Entry to most exhibitions is free.
