The Costa de la Luz — the "Coast of Light" — faces the Atlantic across Cádiz and Huelva provinces, and feels a world apart from the built-up Mediterranean costas. Its beaches are broad, wind-blown, and often empty, backed by dunes and pine. Tarifa, at the tip, is Europe's windsurfing and kitesurfing capital and the jumping-off point for Morocco; Cádiz is one of the oldest cities in the West; and white towns like Vejer and Conil sit just inland.

Andalusia's wilder Atlantic coast — wide dune beaches, windsurfing at Tarifa, and white sherry towns.
