The Parque de la Concordia is a generous 19th-century park north of the old town, on a slight rise above the modern city. It has wide gravel walks, mature plane trees, a small pond with ducks and the obligatory pair of black swans, and benches looking up at the castle on its ridge.
It is the lung of the city — locals walk dogs and pram-push babies here in the cool of the evening. There is a tile-decorated bandstand and, on most weekends in summer, free music in the evenings.
