Málaga drinks well and late. The tapas tradition is strong: a cold beer or a glass of dry sherry comes with something to nibble on, and a circuit of three or four bars makes a perfectly good dinner. The old town around Plaza de la Merced and Calle Granada is packed with options, from century-old taverns serving the local sweet wine straight from the barrel to younger spots with craft cocktails. After midnight things shift to the Soho district and Muelle Uno on the port.
