Bar Central is one of the longest-established tapas bars in Torremolinos town centre, popular with locals rather than tourists. The tapas are inexpensive and come in the Andalusian tradition of being served automatically with each drink — you do not order them, they simply arrive. Jamón, olives, patatas bravas, and small portions of whatever is fresh that day.
The bar opens early and stays busy through the afternoon. It fills up around 2pm when local workers come in for lunch, which is when it is at its best — loud, unpretentious, and firmly Spanish in character rather than resort-tourist.
