The town of Torremolinos is well serviced with regards to public transport in its shopping district, with a bus and train station within very easy reach. In fact, this area is highly regarded as on of the best for shopping on the Costa Del Sol and as such is full of hidden gems for every type of shopper.
Wheelchair Users
In contrast to many holiday resorts and towns in general, Torremolinos shopping area is very wheelchair friendly with its ramps and zebra crossings. In fact virtually all shops and cafes can be accessed without difficulty apart from those at Camino Del Playa . Again, the good public transport options must be kept in mind for those with mobility problems.
** Calle San Miguel **
This is a largely pedestrianised area and is the main shopping street in the town. It boasts a very wi de array of shopping opportunities, with many gift and arts and crafts shops situated on the winding stairway to the beach. Calle San Miguel boasts some big names in ladies clothing such as Zara and Mango. Also, Bershka is a popular clothing emporium situated on this street and stocks both gents and ladies fashion.
Cortefiel , situated on the Avenida Palma de Mallorca , is part of a big chain which has been established since the end of last century and stocks fashions for both sexes, particularly concentrating on the 18 - 30 's age range.
There are also ample boutiques which cater for ladies of all ages here. There really is something for everyone.
** Plaza Costa del Sol **
Calle San Miguel leads on to Plaza Costa Del Sol through a plethora of boutiques, little jewellery stalls, pavement style cafes and gift shops. This area of central Torremolinos is very lively and vibrant although there is also ample chance to explore the quieter back streets for bargains. This is a good area to stop and take a rest from shopping and just to order a drink and some tapas and watch the world go by.
Market Town
Do ensure that you visit the Municipal Market which runs every Thursday between 9am and 3pm. This is situated at El Calvario which is near the ayuntamiento (town hall) in central Torremolinos .
Run on a Sunday morning is the huge car boot market at the Plaza de Toros bullring just slightly north of the city. This market is popular with tourists and locals alike.
