The best eating in Torremolinos is in La Carihuela, the old fishermen’s quarter on the western side of town. The streets off the seafront promenade are lined with restaurants serving the local speciality — fritura malagueña, a mixed plate of small fried fish that is the definitive dish of this stretch of coast. Gamba blanca (the local white prawn) and dorada a la sal (sea bream baked in a salt crust) are also well worth ordering when available.
El Molino de la Torre, at the bottom of Calle San Miguel near the beach, has a good roof terrace and reasonable prices. For local seafood in La Carihuela, El Roqueo is one of the more reliable choices on the promenade.
