Torremolinos is a resort on the Costa Del Sol. Tourists may find that there are so many things to do that they need to work out a method of transportation from one place to another.
Public Transport
Torremolinos has both buses and trains serving the area. Buses are found at the center of Calle Hoya, and can be caught to all the major towns. A 5-hour journey will cost about 19 EUR.
The train station is found at Calle San Miguel. Trains run around every half an hour to Malaga and the airport, and also stopping at Fuengirola.
Transporting Yourself
For independent visitors to Torremolinos, transportation is necessarily a rental car, or walking. Rental cars can be hired from the airport nearby, which also saves on finding transportation to the resort. Roads are well-kept, and secondary roads are often maintained by the state at the residents’ expense. Be aware that sometimes European standards of driving might be classed as “Alarming” – they are certainly more confident and reckless than the average American driver. Bikes and scooters can also be rented, with a valid driver’s license.
For those that wish to try a walking option, there are several kilometres of beach promenade, with any number of places to rest and wait. However, as with everywhere in Europe there are lots of steps (one place has 178 steps) although it is possible to stop and rest if necessary.
