La Carihuela has the best tapas scene — the streets off Calle Quintano Rosado have several good local bars where tapas come free with your drink in the Andalusian tradition. Bar Central in the town centre is popular with locals and stays busy from mid-morning through the lunch hour. The El Nogalera neighbourhood is Torremolinos's gay-friendly zone, with bars and clubs around Plaza Nogalera that stay open very late and draw a mixed crowd. For a flamenco show with dinner, the Taberna Pepe Lopez (around €23 per person including a drink) is a reliable tourist option.
