Getting There in Torremolinos

Torremolinos, on the Costa del Sol, is a popular tourist destination. As a result, there are many ways of getting to the city, from almost anywhere in the world.

By Plane

Of all the things that need to be considered when visiting Torremolinos, getting there is not one of them. Chartered flights and budget airlines call regularly at the nearest airport, Malaga. This is only 7 km away, and tourists can easily transfer themselves to their destination in Torremolinos. Other flights can also be booked to Alicante and Seville, none of which are more than a couple of hours’ journey away.

Getting to the Beaches

There are no flights which land directly in Torremolinos, which can be a good thing (no constant air noise). Most tourists land at Malaga, which is a nearby town. Flights typically travel either from the UK, or from the Irish republic. A direct train service operates from Malaga airport to Torremolinos, which takes about half an hour. The center of Malaga is about nine stops away from the resort, and the train also goes on to Fuengirola, another resort.

For those unwilling to travel by train, it's also possible to get a bus from Malaga, which takes tourists to Torremolinos. There are also taxis, which wait outside Malaga for tourists, but it's important to use a fixed price system, and check the fare before traveling. Don’t enter the taxi if you are unsure about the price.
